Thysse is seeking a quality minded, Die Cutter Operator Trainee who is anxious to excel in our growing company. We expect our team to continuously develop and augment their skills to the benefit of themselves, our customers and our company. 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 1am 2nd shift differential: 15% shift differential Position Summary: This position is responsible for the set-up, operation and will perform other duties as assigned on all complex die cutting machines in the Bindery Department; maintain all die cutting equipment (with assistance when required), and perform other duties as requested. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run Die Cutting equipment to produce quality results.
  • Complete work in a timely manner as defined by production schedules.
  • Learn and understand requirements and ensure finished work effectively drives down stream processes.
  • Accountable for the quality of worked produced.
  • Learn to recognize errors quickly and ensure completed work meets our quality standards.
  • Ensure the materials are on hand and available in a timely manner.
  • Keep their work area organized and clean.
  • Assist with hand-finishing projects as needed.

Requirements Education/Experience:
  • High school or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of working on Die Cutting machines preferred.
  • Trainee: Mechanically inclined and operated machines/equipment before.
  • Additional years of education and experience may be substituted for each other, as determined by Human Resources.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess manual dexterity and is mechanically inclined with ability to trouble shoot.
  • Strong, efficient work ethic that can thrive in a high stress, fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Follow through with responsibilities while following safety rules, processes and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload and make adjustment to meet business needs
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Possesses basic arithmetic skills and ability to read a ruler.
  • Possesses basic computer/data entry skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend work as necessary.
