COMPENSATION:
Starting pay $21.12 per hour
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 40+ hours / 5 days a week. Voluntary overtime possible. 3rd shift starts at 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The position is responsible for the repair of dies, die rings, backers and other such material. These repairs must be performed to precise specifications. Also responsible for check in new dies, inspecting extrusion samples on new dies, completing work orders or repair dies, and making changes to send to die vendors on problem dies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ability to read blueprints.
* Ability to use Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Scope, and Feeler Gauges.
* Strong problem-solving ability.
* Ability to safely operate a forklift, electric cart, and overhead crane.
* Able to lift 70 pounds.
* Maintain and troubleshoot tooling that is not performing to standards.
* Maintain tools per defined blueprints and work effectively on tooling to support the production schedule.
* Maintain computer generated work orders to confirm repairs for tooling.
* Surface grinding for PMs and Continuous Improvement projects.
* Notify supervisor of inventories of perishable details and necessary supplies required.
* Recommend changes in tooling, methods or materials for cost effectiveness and to avoid production delays.
* Make necessary adjustments to tooling; ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
* Ability to order details and update JD Edwards system on tooling updates/status.
* Keep benches and work areas clean and presentable at all times.
* Attend staff and department meetings.
* May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend work.
* Maintain, organize, and clean lab and equipment
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
* Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.
* Complete all required training in a timely manner.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must be at least 18 years or older (insurance purposes), HS Diploma/GED, reliable transportation during working hours, have good interpersonal skills, have basic math skills, able to work efficiently and effectively, and self-motivated self-starter.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license and pass a criminal background check Ability to work with automated equipment.
