Responsibilities • Operate production equipment in accordance with work center instructions and quality inspection procedures. • Ensure that manufactured parts meet and/or exceed customer requirements. • Set up workstations for Production by performing required duties on machinery, tools and materials. May include set-ups for large presses, robotic cells and other computer-aided set-ups. • Knowledgeable of all equipment in the department. • Performs all required set-ups and carries out job functions in accordance with work centre instructions, and standardized set-up procedures. • Performs set-ups on hand transfer, automatic and/or progressive tools, transfer units and other computer-aided set-ups. • Ensures safety compliance on each new set-up. • Pre-stages tooling, fixtures, coils on carts, decoilers. • Troubleshoots on all production machinery. • Conducts test runs, measures test pieces and further adjusts machines to ensure manufactured parts produced meet required specifications. • Runs First-Off samples and issues First-Offs • Reports to Area Leader and/or Team Leader when set-ups complete in their production area. • Ensures correct material, containers/packaging and scrap removal devices are properly installed and functioning. • Provides training to other employees on proper use of machinery as required. • Reports any abnormalities of parts or machine to Area Leader and may suggest corrective action where applicable. • Participates in ongoing Continuous Improvement processes. • Ensures machine and work area is kept clean, tidy and safe. • Operates equipment as required when not setting up dies, including coil handling as required. • Ensure Occupational Health & Safety Act guidelines are followed. • Any other reasonable request made by management. • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to. • Ensures he/she is in full compliance with the laws of Ontario and/or any other province or state, while representing KIRCHHOFF Automotive or during the use of any KIRCHHOFF Automotive provided equipment. • Judgment - exercises judgment re: -Judging at what point a part/component does not meet quality requirements and machines should be shut down and advising Area Leader/Team Leader accordingly -Safety • Accountability - is accountable in areas of: -Accurate setting of dies/machines/computers that contribute to the production of quality parts/components as per customer requirements -Performing job-related activities as per safety guidelines • Contacts - establishes/maintains relationships: -Area Leaders, Team Leaders, KIRCHHOFF Automotive Personnel Benefits: • Shift Premium • Attendance Bonus • Medical Benefits • Life Insurance Benefits • 401K • Vision • Dental PandoLogic.
