Betten Chevrolet-Buick/GMC-Cadillac of Muskegon is seeking a skilled Diesel / Heavy Engine / Transmission Auto Technician.Great Diesel Mechanics must be strong communicators, as they regularly work with team members and customers to uncover the issue with a vehicle and determine a strategy to fix it. They must also have critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative and valuable solutions to complex car maintenance problems.Extensive knowledge in and experience working with vehicles is important for strong candidates to have, as they must know how certain parts of a vehicle work and which tools they need to repair it. Strong organizational and time management skills are also necessary, as they must regularly keep inventory of tools and parts and they must prioritize their large number of maintenance tasks accordingly.What We Offer:

Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including Diesel engines, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
  • State of Michigan Mechanic Certificate (Diesel, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Transmission, Manual Drive Train & Axles, Electrical, Brakes, and Suspension)
  • Automotive Service Excellence Certifications are ideal
  • GM Experienced Diesel Technician preferred
  • Strong automotive background
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
  • Must have clean & valid driver's license
