Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Scarborough, ME.You will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
ResponsibilitiesIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following: (Advanced):
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
- Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)Vocational diploma from relevant technical institutionLocally valid driving permit (Preferred)This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)QualificationsThe ideal candidate for this position will be tasked with a diverse set of responsibilities that span both our In-Shop Departments and Field Service team. This role is particularly suited for individuals with an adaptive personality, capable of managing cross-functional tasks. A background in power generation and familiarity with marine terminology are essential, as is the ability to work safely within confined spaces. Additionally, possession of a class A driver's license is preferred, though candidates should be prepared to obtain this license within a 12-month timeframe if they do not already have it. This position is not only technical but also dynamic, requiring a blend of practical skills and the flexibility to meet various operational demands.- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations- This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of ageCompensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
