Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Rocky Hill, CT.You will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
ResponsibilitiesIn order to be successful in this role you will need the following: (Entry):
- Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
- Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
(Intermediate):
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision
(Advanced):
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
- Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
- Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Minimal level of work shop experience required Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
QualificationsHours Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Hours are subject to change due to business needsThis is a union position and candidate will need to join union- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements.
