- Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines with a focus on service quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Minimize downtime by ensuring equipment is available and operational in a timely manner.
- Maintain rigorous safety and performance standards in all shop operations.
- Contribute to the service department's reputation by embracing new challenges and seeking ways to add value.
Reporting Structure:This role reports directly to the Shop Supervisor and collaborates with management across various business divisions.Requirements
- Strong knowledge of mechanics, including brakes, drivetrain, A/C, cooling systems, electrical components, electronics (ECM, Body Controls), steering, suspension, diesel components, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and welding.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair, maintenance, and OSHA regulations.
- Skilled in component exchanges and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Expertise in truck equipment, including transmissions, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Strong sense of urgency, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in operating vehicles and diagnostic equipment.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Must own your own tools.
- 2-3 years of prior experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, stooping, crawling, bending, reaching, and climbing.
- Basic computer skills; welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to maintain service-related documents.
- Valid driver's license required.
