Our team is what makes St. Camillus an amazing place to work.We are currently seeking a Diet Technician to join the Dining Services Team!Job Descriptions: The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality nutritional services to the Residents/Patients at St. Camillus in accordance with NYSDOH and Federal regulations. Additional Responsibilities:
  • Upon Resident/Patient admission the Diet Technician will obtain and evaluate the diet history of the individual in order to plan a nutritional program. Document in the resident chart according to St. Camillus Policy.
  • Provide diet clerk with Resident/ Patient diet information to input into the Geri Menu program.
  • Initiate the Nutrition Assessment Form and follow-up on all preliminary data collection to provide to the Registered Dietician no later than 7 days after admission.
  • Complete all MDS+ forms according to the schedule provided.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly assessments as scheduled.
  • Complete any episodic documentation on Resident/Patients as needed. Communicate to the Registered Dietician information as needed.
  • Participate in interdisciplanary care plan meetings according to schedule provided.
  • Meet with Nurse Manager or designee to discuss Residents/Patients who are at risk (risk is defined in nutrition policy and procedure).
  • Review records for requested lab data as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in in-service as scheduled.
  • Maintain continuing education credits per diet technician program.
  • Provide diet instruction to residents and /or family members.
  • Assist residents and/or family members with selective menus.
  • Conduct test trays and resident satisfaction surveys as scheduled.
  • Conduct meal rounds daily.
  • Must be neat, clean and organized at all times.
  • Responsible for employee injury prevention, follows safety rules, and addresses safety issues with supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Qualifications: Candidates eligible for this position must possess:
    • Associates degree or higher in Nutrition or a related field
    • 1 year experience in long-term care preferred
