Full time: 11am-8pm for 5 days a week (Sunday - Thursday)POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility and as directed by Dietary or other management.The Dietary Aide will treat each resident with kindness, dignity and respect. They will refer to each resident by their name. They will communicate clearly, empathetically, and effectively when speaking to residents, family members, visitors, all staff and governmental agencies. They will work cooperatively with all departments and multidisciplinary teams. They will demonstrate patience, initiative and willingness to assist residents that may be difficult or in discomfort. They will relate all pertinent information concerning a resident's condition to a charge nurse as required. They will be committed to always doing the right thing.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssisting the Dietician / Dietary Management and Cook as requestedHelping with meal preparation in accordance to the dietary needs of the residentsAssisting in serving meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearanceTimely setting up of meal service and delivery of meal trays and food cartsFollowing the established portion controls recommendedAdhering to sanitation and food safety guidelines during meal preparation and clean upKeeping work tables clean, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.Sweeping and mopping floorsDishwashing and cleaning of utensilsReturning clean dishes and utensils to the proper storage areasCarrying out of garbageDisposing of food and waste per facility regulationsObtaining food supplies for the next mealFollowing safety regulations and precautions at all timesReporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediatelyAdhering to all facility policies and procedures of the facilityMaintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident care informationEvery effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position.
