Requirements
Dietary Aide must be eligible for hire and receive facility orientation. This job requires lifting of up to 20lbs. and being able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to bend, kneel, climb step stool, and reach. Must be able to read and write. ServeSafe certification within last two (2) years preferred for Dietary Aide position.
Description
1. To assist in preparing meals as scheduled on the dietary menus prepared by a certified dietician.
2. Dietary Aides are to help prepare items that can be made in advance under the direction of the dietary technician, such as salads, baked goods, and gelatin.
3. To assist in preparing special or modified diets as ordered on the dietary menus and in accordance with the diet ordered for each resident.
4. To assist in meal service as directed by the Dietary Technician.
5. Assure that foods are stored and served at appropriate temperatures.
6. Check coolers for dated items, making sure all items are labeled correctly, and dispose of them if out-dated.
7. Help to manage food inventory by rotating stock, as directed by the dietary technician.
8. To assist in preparing snacks as ordered on the dietary menu for service by aides three times per day.
9. Respect all resident rights while preparing and serving meals.
10. Abide by the rules and regulations set by the department of health and human services and the department of environmental health.
11. To assist with cleaning all kitchen and dining room areas, and special assigned cleaning tasks as instructed by the dietary technician.
12. Make sure that all cooking materials and resident dinnerware is cleaned after each meal, and that the cleaning equipment is working properly.
13. Assist in cleaning floors in kitchen and dining room area.
14. Dietary Aides must cooperate with other staff members, especially the dietary technician.
15. Dietary Aides must understand and comply with all safety policy and procedures and become familiar with emergency plans within the facility
16. Participate in job-related training activities which are required by the Administration.
17. Perform other job-related duties that are delegated by the supervisor and/or Administration
