This role plays a crucial role in our patients' food service experience. Your primary responsibilities will be to take patients' food order, assist with preparing their food, delivering their meals, and following up with them after they're done eating while picking up their trays to ensure that they've had a great food experience. You'll work with the patient's care team ensuring they receive the proper meal for their condition. It's a great way to make a difference in our patients' journey to wellness and get started in the healthcare industry. Typical ScheduleThis is a part-time role with hours available on weekends and weeknight evenings.Qualifications
- 6 to 12 months food service experience, preferred.
- 6 months of hospital experience, preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility, dependability and a willingness to learn, required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering meals to patients according to their prescribed diet, established recipes, policies and procedures.
- Assisting patients with meal ordering and delivery of patient trays.
- Helping prep food items sold in both the caf and market locations.
- Performing foodservice operations such as ordering food supplies, preparing menus, and cleaning.
- Maintaining inventory of food and other supplies used in patient care facilities.
- Delivering meals in Hospital, OB, ER, and Oncology.
- Maintaining and cleaning the kitchen and prep spaces.
- Recording of temperatures and maintaining food service equipment.
- Assist with ordering food and equipment as needed and putting away deliveries.
- Stocking departments with snacks/equipment cleaning such as fridge and coffee machines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Ability to understand and apply the principles of diet restrictions and food allergens.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math, knowledge in basic food service equipment operation, safe food handling and sanitation.
- Working knowledge of portion sizes, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as recipe conversion, cash register, online ordering, weights and measures, discounts, proportions, and volume.
- Effectively participate in the interdisciplinary care team.
