APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED.State Hospital South (SHS) is looking for two full-time and one part-time Dietary Aide Seniors to assist in setting up serving lines, portioning food items, delivering meals, and maintaining a clean and sanitized dining and kitchen area. Located in Blackfoot, Idaho, SHS provides psychiatric inpatient treatment and skilled nursing care for the state's adult citizens with the most serious and persistent mental illnesses. The hospital works in partnership with families and communities to enable clients to return to community living. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our patients receive nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.This announcement may be used to fill full-time, part-time, and temporary positions. Temporary positions are limited to working 1,385 hours in a 12-month period for any one state agency. Employees are eligible for benefits if they work twenty (20) hours or more per week and the term of employment is expected to exceed five (5) continuous months.Schedule: 4-10's for full time; 3-10's for part time. Sunday through Saturday, including holidays.This position is not eligible for telework.Any applicant offered employment in this position at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.* Good knowledge of sanitation and safety practices used in food handling.* Good knowledge of equipment and devices (appliances) used in food preparation.* Experience operating and cleaning kitchen equipment.* Experience cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas.The minimum qualifications are typically gained by:At least 3 months of work experience in fast-food restaurant, using, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen areas and equipment OR at least 3 months of work experience in an institution such as a school, hospital, or nursing home, using, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen areas and equipment.On-the-job training for food service safety OR attended an 8-hour course (in-service training) or seminar on food service safety (this is not the same as on-the-job training) OR completed college, or vocational, food handling course or military food service training.Below is preferred experience.
