Position Summary:Responsible for assisting the cook with regular tasks of producing quality food products at the proper temperatures and on time. Responsible for the regular care, cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas. Follow established policies and procedures of the dietary department.Education / Licensure / Registration /Certification Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years of ageMust have the ability to read and follow instructionsPrior experience in a food service environment is desiredPrior experience in a long-term care environment is preferred but not necessaryMust have the ability to be compassionate and patient when working with residents and their family membersMust have knowledge of elementary mathGeneral Job Functions:
Cleans and sanitizes assigned equipment and work areasReplenishes food supply in the kitchen from storerooms and freezersMeet scheduled meal and snack timesFollow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties including: clearing tables and trays; washing dishes, cleaning pots and pans, placing items in storage until needed againMonitor and records each residents consumption of meals and drinksArrange and load meals onto trays and delivers them to resident's room and the dining roomAdvises supervisor when supplies are lowRead and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all supplies and use according to directionsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, dietary cardex and procedure manuals.Setting up the dining room and serving residentsAssists residents that need help eating their mealsAssists cook or manager with preparing mealsPhysical Demands:
