Requirements• High School Graduate or GED• Ability to follow oral and written directions• Knowledge of cost control, sales and possesses a good aptitude in figures.Job Description• Prepares food items as ordered based on current menu. Sets up station accurately; identifies and serves food items on menu; indicates missing items, if any, to Supervisor.• Participates in tray line service. Places food items on trays according to checked menu and prescribed diet; checks and follows standard portion control; observes equipments for operational defects.• Transports food trucks and is responsible for tray distribution. Locates specific patient care units and delivers food truck; Delivers food tray to patient following correct identification procedures; returns food trucks to kitchen dish room for disassembly; displays care in cleaning and storing of equipment used.• Prepares and delivers patient nourishment. Prepares and delivers special feedings according to diet prescription and preparation instructions; returns nourishment truck to kitchen; refrigerates leftover food items.• Participates in ware washing activities. Demonstrates ability to properly set-up and carry out assignments and duties based on established standard operating procedures.• Maintains and improves standards of sanitation, safety and personal hygiene. Follows rules of personal hygiene, sanitary procedures and safety practices in cleaning and handling equipments based on Standard Operating Procedures; reports hazardous conditions to the Supervisor; utilizes correct body mechanics in daily activities; completes assignments in timely manner.• Demonstrates awareness of cost effectiveness. Utilizes equipments and supplies in an efficient manner; practices waste control directions constantly.• Demonstrates care in cleaning and storing equipments used. Displays knowledge of sanitary procedures in cleaning, does not drop, break or chip china, drop pans.• Ensures patient service and dish room environment are kept in clean and safe at all times.• Communicates with the nursing staff any and all information pertaining to the patient's condition before, during and after patient's transport.
