We are a nonprofit and one of only a few assisted living's that have been awarded the Gold Excellence of Care by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare! Our team works cooperatively together to ensure all resident needs are met.

Job Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of dietary services for Independant Living & Assisted Living facilities.

- Develop and implement nutritional care plans and dietary programs in accordance with regulatory standards.

- Manage and train dietary staff, including, cooks, and dietary aides.

- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning food preparation and safety.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address the dietary and nutritional needs of patients or residents.

- Conduct regular audits and inspections of dietary services to ensure quality control.

- Create and manage the dietary department budget, including procurement of food supplies and equipment.

- Plan and approve menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate specific dietary restrictions and preferences.

- Monitor meal preparation and service to ensure adherence to established guidelines and high standards of quality.

- Address any concerns or complaints related to dietary services promptly and effectively.

- Maintain accurate records of dietary services, including inventory, meal service data, and staff schedules.

- Stay current with the latest nutritional science research and best practices in dietary management.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the dietary department, encouraging staff development and innovation.

- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure the timely delivery of food and supplies.

- Promote health and wellness through educational programs and initiatives for both staff and clients/pat

Job Requirements

- Must have Serv-Safe Certificate or acquire one within the first year of employment

- Prefer three years of experience in dietary management, preferably in a healthcare setting

- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for various populations, including special diets and restrictions

- Proficiency in menu planning, meal preparation, and budget management

- Familiarity with food safety regulations

- Experience with inventory management and procurement processes

- Ability to lead and train kitchen staff and ensure high standards of cleanliness and food service

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, and families

- Computer literacy, including proficiency with dietary software and Microsoft Office Suite

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed (weekend work only as needed)

- Physical ability to perform job functions, including standing for extended periods
