This job opportunity might be for you:We are seeking to add a Dietary Manager to our team!A Dietary Manager's primary responsibility is to lead culinary services in providing our residents with meals and quality food. They lead the preparation and serving of meals (and therapeutic diets) effectively, while also ensuring residents' nutritional status stays up-to-date in their clinical records.Responsibilities and Purpose
- Responsible for food purchase, production, and timely service of meals.
- Maintain sanitary kitchen environment at all times and ensure food safety standards are met.
- Maintain standardized recipes, as adjusted for the size of the facility.
- Check trays for accuracy, garnishments, and overall appearance before they are delivered.
- Observe the food intake of residents and communicate that information to the Dietary Consultant and/or Director of Nursing.
- Visit residents to do initial nutrition screening explain diet, record food preferences and promote a quality food service.
Required Experience and Education
- Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) certification.
- If not certified, you must obtain a ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire and ANFP certification within 1 year (paid for by the facility via contract with employee).
- A Registered Diet Technician (DTR) also qualifies as a Dietary Manager with the job title Diet Technician.
- 1+ years experience in a long-term care environment.
