ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Health Center Dietary Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes and special diet orders. The Dietary Supervisor assists the Health Center Dietitian with the Health Center food service program and provides the level of supervision necessary to ensure that courteous and efficient service is delivered as well as high quality and nutritious foods.

YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL
* Assist in the planning, scheduling and supervision of Health Center dietary staff.
* Assist in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
* Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, placing food orders and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
* Assist in assuring staff education is provided to dietary staff and culinary team in accordance with the staff education plan plus provides on the job training for Health Center dietary staff.
* Assist in developing work assignments for all dietary staff assigning specific jobs and spot-checking work to ensure standards are met.
* Be responsible for completion of hall trays and accuracy.
* Contact the dietitian if unplanned or special therapeutic diets are ordered.
* Assure that meal tallies are accurate daily.
* Assign cleaning schedules daily.

* High School diploma/GED required.
* A minimum of two years supervisory experience in food service operations of a health care setting.
* Certified in safety and sanitation in regard to food service (CDM required).
* Prefer experience in a long-term health care environment.
* Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
* Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
* Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
* Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
* Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
* Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
