Cayuga Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a part time Dietetic TechnicianSummary DescriptionAssist in the provision of food service and nutritional programs, under the supervision of a dietitian. May plan and produce meals based on established guidelines, teach principles of food and nutrition, or counsel individuals. Job Tasks
  • Conduct nutritional assessments of individuals, including obtaining and evaluating individuals' dietary histories, to plan nutritional programs.
  • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals.
  • Evaluate patient functioning, capabilities, or health.
  • Analyze patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals.
  • Observe patient food intake and report progress and dietary problems to dietician.
  • Monitor patient progress or responses to treatments.
  • Inform medical professionals regarding patient conditions and care.
  • Prepare a major meal, following recipes and determining group food quantities.
  • Manage preparation of special meals or diets.
  • Supervise food production or service or assist dietitians or nutritionists in food service supervision or planning.
  • Supervise medical support personnel.
  • Plan menus or diets or guide individuals or families in food selection, preparation, or menu planning, based upon nutritional needs and established guidelines.
  • Manage preparation of special meals or diets.
  • Provide health and wellness advice to patients, program participants, or caregivers.
  • Determine food and beverage costs and assist in implementing cost control procedures.
  • Develop job specifications, job descriptions, or work schedules.
  • Analyze menus or recipes, standardize recipes, or test new products.
  • Manage preparation of special meals or diets.
  • Deliver speeches on diet, nutrition, or health to promote healthy eating habits and illness prevention and treatment.
  • Communicate health and wellness information to the public.
  • Refer patients to other relevant services to provide continuity of care.
  • Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners or health resources.
  • Select, schedule, or conduct orientation or in-service education programs.
  • Train medical providers.
  • Provide dietitians with assistance researching food, nutrition, or food service systems.
  • Conduct research to increase knowledge about medical issues.
  • Provides registered dietitian services according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements.
Qualifications
  • Reqiured:
  • Associates degree in nutrition or dietetics
  • Experience working with a licensed dietitian
  • Registered with the American Dietetic Association
  • Licensed with the state dietetic association
  • Experience working in a senior living facility

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 10 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 10 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
