Dietetic Technician

The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking per diem Dietetic Technicians to join our team in our skilled nursing facility. A vital and important part of the team you will provide and nutrition services that are essential to the residents' health, happiness & wellbeing.
Seeking candidates available to work the 7:00am to 6:00pm shift for weekends!
Diet techs work collaboratively with the dietary, food and nutrition services, and the rest of the interdisciplinary care team to assist in providing outstanding care to our patients and residents.
Key Tasks Include:
* Receives, verifies and maintains accuracy of all diet orders
* Gives menus to new admissions
* Retrieves communication sheets
* Modifies resident/patient menus according to therapeutic needs
* Assists residents/patients with menus as needed
* Enters menus into Geri Menu, nutrition computer program
* Posts weekly menus on units
* Prints and separates daily meal tickets

Position requirements:
* Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition
* Prior experience in long term care environment strongly preferred
* Will be friendly and sociable and be able to provide comfort to patients with good interpersonal skills - both verbal and in writing
