Position Description: Dietitian
Looking for a registered dietitian with experience at a critical access hospital with CDCES preferred. Duties may include any of the following: inpatient unit, outpatient clinic(s), food service evaluation, and menu development. The inpatient unit is very general for patients as this is a critical access hospital, with very little nutrition support. Outpatient clinics include medical weight loss and diabetes management with other MNT consults as ordered per physician

- Two years of recent experience planning regular and modified diets in a healthcare facility. 3 years preferred
- • Two years of clinical nutrition work experience with specific emphasis on providing medical nutrition therapy targeting
- chronic diseases and nutrition education throughout the life cycle
- • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university
- • Completed a Didactic Program in Dietetics Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics
- (ACEND)
- • Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Provides MNT for inpatients and outpatients. MNT includes performing assessments, creating nutrition care planning,
- counseling and education, and administration of special therapies providing individualized guidance on food selection
- and meal preparation for disease management and prevention of complications, and follow-up as needed.
- 2. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in nutrition, overseeing the medical nutrition therapy of the complex and high-risk
- patients.
- 3. Provides in-service education and/or training, education programs to nursing staff, medical staff, students, healthcare
- personnel and the general public, as needed.
- 4. Modifies patient profiles, in accordance with nutritional need, food intolerances and food preferences.
- 5. Participates as a member of the medical team at interdisciplinary care conferences to develop and/or update a patient
- care plan.
- 6. Provides MNT for adults and/or family members referred by a physician for outpatient services.
- 7. Performs regular food service department quality assurance checks.
- 8. Provides nutrition-related presentations/information for the community.
- 9. Provides in- service education for Food Service personnel.
- 10. Prepares reports and provides other documents needed to maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies.
- 11. Performs other duties as assigned
