Job Description:
The Sky Carp are looking to add a self-motivated social-media-savvy individual to help create industry-leading social content. This role will report to the Vice President of Entertainment and will support the overall social media strategy of the organization, including ideation, content creation, publishing, and reporting for organic and branded content. Our overall marketing approach prioritizes driving in-market brand awareness, fan engagement and revenue and this role will be a key driver of our efforts.The individual will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day content and community management across all social media platforms related to the Sky Carp, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter). They will build a content calendar that aligns with the club's social media strategy, including gameday content, branded content, content that showcases our player's personalities, and community initiatives in an effort to grow fandom. They will partner with our creative team (video and graphic design) to ensure they're producing content to maximize reach and engagement and adhere to brand guidelinesKey Responsibilities
  • #1 goal of this position is to drive game attendance (ticket sales), merchandise sales and overall topline revenue for the organization.
  • Increase ticket redemption percentages through direct email, text messaging & social media posts.
  • Ideate, present, create, and post original and engaging day-to-day social media content across all Sky Carp social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter).
  • Interact with fans, followers, MiLB/MLB teams in real-time, fostering a sense of community and building relationships with our audience.
  • Monitor and respond to social media inquiries, comments and messages in a timely and professional manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Recognize, relay, and recommend social media trends in sports and popular culture to the Entertainment team.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging social media platforms, trends, and best practices, and recommend innovative strategies to reach new audiences and engage existing followers.
  • Maintain a detailed weekly and monthly social media calendar, accounting for organic and sponsored content to ensure consistent and quality content.
  • Utilize key learnings from performance metrics, reports and insights to inform future content.
  • Own our live coverage of home and away games, events, and behind-the-scenes activities to keep fans informed and engaged in real-time.
  • Work closely with Group Sales and Corporate Partnership teams to ensure we're adhering to contractual requirements regarding sponsored content.
  • Execute social media campaigns to promote ticket sales, merchandise, events, and other club initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, creative, corporate partnerships and other relevant departments to coordinate social media efforts.
  • Maintain and update SkyCarp.com to ensure all information is accurate and relevant.
  • Communicate with fans through our texting platform during games to boost sales in merchandise, food and beverage and ticketing.
  • Create and procure all sponsored content to create end of year proof of performance documentation.
Requirements
  • Experienced in the Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects).
  • Experienced in Microsoft Suite (particularly PowerPoint).
  • Open for professional feedback and composition critiques.
  • Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently and self-motivate.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to generate engaging content ideas and storytelling concepts.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to attend company events of all types.
  • Ability to learn and adapt in fast changing environments and keep calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings, including all games (or other work events) that fall on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to pull tarp and other manual labor tasks, part of the baseball experience.
  • Experience working with social media analytics tools.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a relevant area of studyPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position include the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and the use of standard office equipment including computers.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a regular, full-time, exempt position.
