BASF|Chemetall is looking for a Digital Innovation - R&D Lab Operations Analyst to join our enthusiastic, supportive, and driven North American Digital Innovation team. Our Team is responsible for the development and implementation of the Digital Roadmap for our North America business. We lead digitalization initiatives from the initial idea until the implementation.
This individual will play a key role in driving the design and implementation of process transformation for our business. Your knowledge and experience managing digital deliverables from concept to close will enable you to create scalable, robust, and efficient solutions that align with the objectives of our laboratory-based Technology team. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, Lab Team leads and scientists in the regional and global organization to ensure successful project delivery. Our mission is to empower our businesses with tailored data-driven solutions to streamline processes, increase operational efficiency, and drive growth. This is a mid-senior-level position that requires robust technical capabilities, team spirit, and a focused mindset.
Formula for Success:
* Identify digital opportunities that align with the R&D and Laboratory organization's strategy. Leverage your knowledge in Laboratory Information Management systems (LIMS) and other domain specific solutions to drive the team's digital transformation.
* Analyze lab processes and search for opportunities to foster efficiency.
* Support the data-driven digital transformation of the team by driving efficient data management solutions and analytics projects.
* Lead and manage projects as a whole from concept creation to planning, executing, testing, and handover.
* Communicate with internal business partners / users to understand their product needs, and always focusing on user experience and satisfaction.
* Review product requirements and developing test scenarios for vendor solutions as well as for tailored self-developed solutions.
* Define project scope and creating project plan. Use strategic planning to ensure the team produces the expected project outcomes. Communicate technical concepts clearly, and continuously improving the software implementation and delivery processes.
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Ingredients for Success:
* B.S. or greater in Computer Science, Natural Science (e.g. Chemistry), Chemical Engineering or similar.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred working in a similar field.
* Knowledge of processes, equipment, and workflows in Chemistry Laboratories.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
* Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
* Understanding of QA/QC practices in a laboratory setting.
* Strong analytical skills, ability to break down problems, identify patterns, and make logical conclusions to solve problems and make decisions.
* Strategic thinking skills, analyze data and information to make informed decisions about the future.
* Teamwork, ability to work well with others, collaborate effectively, and be committed to the teams success.
