Based in Garden City, New York, Dover Publications has consistently shown a commitment to excellence through finely crafted books and high-quality content across adult coloring, classic literature, mathematics, music, wellness, and children's publishing.SUMMARYThe Digital Account Manager will manage the social media program, eBook Publishing, help support Amazon and direct-to-consumer marketing, manage digital asset efforts and other digital initiatives to drive customer demand, traffic and conversions for Lakeside Book Company's Publishing group. They will coordinate at strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.A successful individual will understand how to manage multiple initiatives in parallel from concept and budgeting through execution and performance analysis. This position requires a hands-on professional who can manage a small team as well as create the strategy and lead its implementation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Amazon account to maximize sales on both front and backlist titles. This includes regularly monitoring and reporting of sell-to, sell-thru, and Amazon's inventory position by title. Detailed analysis will be completed and provided to the organization to help inform and influence Production, Editorial, and Sales decisions.
  • Ensure the Amazon account is running optimally. This includes case management to reduce the number of out-of-stock titles and buy button issues. Copyright infringement issues are also managed.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for the Metadata Specialist, ensuring optimization of key metadata elements including keywords, titles, BISAC codes, series, descriptions, additional images, etc. to improve online discoverability. This includes driving reporting on results and being current on industry best practices.
  • Help develop content and be heavily involved with strategic planning and execution for Dover's direct-to-consumer website.
  • Assist with SEO & SEM efforts across platforms and channels.
  • Manage the social media program, including planning, posting, paid ads and reporting.
  • Develop creative content (banners, video, images) to support marketing initiatives - Amazon content, web pages, emails, social media activities, SEM and more.
  • Work on digital initiatives as they arise and other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing digital marketing activities and social media programs for a company selling products directly to consumers and trade customers.
  • Strong skills, knowledge, and experience with Microsoft Office products especially Excel.
  • Proficiency with creative software (eg Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and general understanding of HTML and JavaScript.
  • Background and understanding of SEO, SEM and digital paid ad concepts and platforms.
  • Strong quantitative skills; exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing and hiring, training, developing, supervising and appraising direct reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with very effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience in book publishing is a plus.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
