The Fresh Air Fund (The Fund) seeks an experienced Digital Media Coordinator to join the Communications team. Position Summary: The Digital Media Coordinator oversees The Fund's digital multimedia portfolio, manages the Summer Photojournalist Internship Program, and creates content for our blog and social media. The Digital Media Coordinator reports to the Communications Director, works closely with colleagues on the Communications, Development and Program teams, and with communications and marketing consultants. This is a full-time hybrid position, based in our New York City office and currently requires three days in the office. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the editorial calendar and capture, write, edit and share photo and video content to engage stakeholder audiences on social and digital media platforms including The Fund's blog, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Interview program participants, alumni, staff, and other stakeholders to create compelling digital storytelling content.
  • Manage the Summer Photojournalist Internship Program including hiring and supervising an average of 4 interns that will photograph activities and interview participants and staff at The Fund's camps.
  • Enhance our social media presence across social media platforms and engage with our audience to support recruitment.
  • Manage The Fund's content management system (Canto software)
  • Support external Direct Marketing and Public Relations firms and play a key role in developing communications and public relations strategy.
  • Support content collection for two NY Times Public Service Supplements.
  • Review and share social media and website analytics to inform strategy and identify areas for growth.
  • Ensure all digital content follows brand guidelines.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on trends and best practices.
  • Support graphic design and website projects
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experienced photographer and proficient in editing software(e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro).
  • Experience with writing for digital platforms, and knowledge of best practices for digital engagement, audience development and analyzing SEO trends and analytics
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with outdoor photography
  • A commitment to The Fresh Air Fund's mission. Experience in a youth development setting is a plus
  • Experience with video editing, WordPress and graphic design is a plus
