Working Hours/Days: Mon - Fri, 7:30-4:00pm Overview:
The Digital Product Support Sales Representative has overall responsibility for increasing sales with CAT RAM, as well as having responsibility for selling ESC with Product Support Sales Representative. This position serves external customers, the Prime Product Sales, Service Departments, Product Support Sales, and Parts Departments within Altorfer Industries and Altorfer Inc. Power Systems Division. They are tasked with overseeing the administration of Caterpillar's Online Software Applications, providing support for Remote Asset Monitoring hardware and software, managing Condition Monitoring initiatives, and supporting lead generation efforts.
Basic Duties:
- Perform site walks with customer to help create solutions for connectivity using CAT RAM.
- Attend customer site meetings pertaining to upcoming installs.
- Brief service operations team regarding upcoming installs and hand off details to ensure operations team has details necessary to execute work effectively.
- Manage New Engine Delivered opportunity and activations.
- Oversees granting of access, linking of customer accounts with Cat UCIDs, and management of customer access to the Cat Online Applications. Also, ensures the dealership has proper Data Authorization forms on file.
- Completes onboard training for CAT RAM customers and provide support with customer issues.
- Responsible for managing subscriptions for remote asset monitoring and reconciling with accounting to match up with invoiced amounts to customers.
- Managing Cat programs for promotions and incentive credits to make sure the dealership is maximizing the use of those to promote remote asset monitoring.
- Subject Matter Expert on hardware and software issues including hardware/subscription recommendations, firmware updates, connection issues, and general troubleshooting support for Service and Sales staff with the assistance of TC staff.
- Utilize Caterpillars PowerNet, Technical Marketing Information (TMI web), Dealer Solution Network (DSN), Service Information Management Sys (SIMSi) and Service Information System (SIS web), as safe sources of technical information for the commercial engine business.
- Assist Inside Sales team with Follow-Up, Preventative Maintenance, and Repair Quoting when able.
- Assist TC team in reviewing SOS analysis, CAT Inspect Reports, RAM Data and Service History to create leads to assist customers with additional support to ensure proactive addressing of issues and to help customers maximize uptime of their equipment.
- Responsible for selling/upgrading customer New ESC and Advantage ESC excluding Industrial Rep customer base.
- ESC Champion must attend quarterly webinars and update meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate, preferably with minimum of 5 years Sales experience.
- Knowledge and previous experience in operation and maintenance requirements of power generation equipment, marine engines, or industrial engines required.
- Computer literate and proficient with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power BI, Outlook, and other data systems required. Knowledge of DBS highly preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills working across multiple systems, management levels, and functions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as equipment service manuals, parts literature, policies, claims, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and familiar with technician troubleshooting procedures.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to provide professional business communication when sending emails, letters, notes, and documenting policies and procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills are needed.
- Dependability and organizational skills a must.
- Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
- Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).
- Understand the commercial engine business and the relationship between Caterpillar, the Dealership, OEMs, and our customers.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
This position works in a shop/office environment. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift to 75lbs. May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time; answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields) when needed. The noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate to high. Noise level in the office environment is usually moderate to low. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional travel may be required.
