Purpose of the Position
Under the direction of the Front of the House Manager, perform other duties to include but not limited to maintaining all aspects of dining room and beverage stations, replenishing condiments, cashiering, and cleaning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
* Knowledge of basic math skills
* Ability to read and write
* Ability to follow directions both verbal and written
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally to both supervisors and guests
* Knowledge of safety and sanitizing procedures
* Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processed are used
* Ability to wear protective footwear
* Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all Dining Services employees and customers
* Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience:
* Previous experience in the food service industry
* Previous customer service experience
Additional Consideration(s)
Experience:
* Previous cash handling experience
* Experience with cleaning and/or sanitizing procedures
* Experience with workplace safety practices
* Previous experience working at a college/university
Role Code 79211 Salary Information Starting at $14.50 per hour, Commensurate with Education and Experience CNU Information Conditions of Employment
This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;
Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program;
Selected candidate must have the ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processed are used;
Selected candidate must have the ability to lift at least 25 lbs.;
Selected candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule.
