DescriptionResponsibilities & DutiesThe Dining Room Facilitator provides service to guests in setting tables, serving meals, storing leftovers, cleaning, and other routine work in the dining areas and other eventsDining Room/Event Serving
- Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, employees, guests, donors; homeless men, women, and children; community groups, church groups, and public officials
- Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests while maintaining professional boundaries, including guest confidentiality
- Maintain an environment of love, grace, dignity and respect
- Trains, leads and assigns tasks to the volunteers and holds the volunteers accountable for meeting mission, quality, safety, and other performance standards
- Monitors the dining room operation and the volunteers' performance
- Prepares schedules for volunteers, ensuring adequate coverage and appropriate distribution of assignments
- Monitors inventory of dining room supplies, ensuring that associates exercise appropriate cost controls; assists in ordering and/or maintaining inventory
- Monitors dining room to ensure the area is clean and in proper condition; notifies management of needed repairs and/or replacements and possible safety hazards
- Monitors available seating and directs guests to appropriate tables to ensure efficient distribution for the best possible service
- Communicate with kitchen employees to ensure appropriate dinnerware and equipment match to meals serviced
- Oversees and assists with dining-related programs such as special events, private parties, meal delivery, and guest dining
- Assists in maintaining appropriate department records such as reports, files, time records, and schedules
- Setup and teardown of all events related to the kitchen/dining team
- Assist with food preparation and serving
Other
- Complete reports as needed, including daily meal counts
- Assure health department standards are being followed
- Report any safety hazards to the maintenance department
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Manage employees' web-based time and attendance records
- Attend staff devotions, community meetings, and staff meetings as directed by the Food Service Manager
- Support and attend GRM team meetings
- Provide weekly reports as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Reports to: Food Service Manager and Dining Room Lead FacilitatorVacation Level: 1RequirementsQualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in banquet serving, food industry, and inventory oversight
- Proficient organizational skills
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
- Adhere to clean grooming and appearance standards
- Proficient customer and interpersonal service skills
- Proficient teaching and leading abilities
- ServSafe Certified is a plus
- Awareness of homelessness, substance abuse disorders, and mental health issues is a plus
- Maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License and must have a clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Must be an evangelical Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God's love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to all
Physical Demands:
- This individual will come in contact with individuals who are ill and/or contagious and must take precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking; and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Mental Demands:
- The population we serve is typically in crisis. This can cause emotional stress and compassion fatigue. GRM highly promotes employee self-care.
