We are looking for Dining Room Helpers and Runners to join our team! Generally, the Dining Room Helper's and Runner's primary responsibility is to satisfy our guests by assisting with our meal service. Busser/Dining Room Helpers must be thoroughly familiar with Lawry's appearance standards, guest interaction procedures, table duties, side work, and safety procedures, and the overall operation of our kitchen and dining room.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consistently and sufficiently meet Lawry's standards as an ambassador of the restaurant with our guests, including inspiring the WOW Factor level of service, providing and exuding quality, professionalism, positive guest relations, and first-class entertainment and performance.
- Comply with all of Lawry's employment-related policies and procedures; including accurate records of hours worked, breaks, and tip income in TMX, communication of shift changes, tardiness, or absence; and behavior consistent with the company's desire to maintain a workplace free of incidents of co-worker harassment, discrimination, drug or alcohol abuse.
- Participate with assigned co-workers in the timely introduction of guests, description of food and beverage selections, expedient delivery of meal service, verification of meal satisfaction, any resolution of guest issues, and assistance with guests' readiness to depart the restaurant, including boxing items to go or take-home containers, signaling the end of service.
- Greet and accommodate individual and special needs of guests along with Carver and Dining Room Server in a confident, well-spoken, and succinct manner, while following Lawry's standard operating procedures for delivery of the finest dining and entertainment experience to our guests, including serving and refilling butter, bread, water, tea and coffee beverages, and plates.
- Thank the guests and invite them to return.
- Pre-bus tables at the end of each course, and bus tables when parties leave.
- Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware in the dishwasher area.
- Reset tables for new parties and set up tables for large and private parties.
- Restock side stations throughout the shift and remove linen bags when full.
- Gracefully manage service with three (3) or more Servers and stations at the same time without sacrificing quality, attitude or negatively affecting the guest's experience.
- Express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English in an average manner both with co workers and guests, including writing orders, requests, reservations, or instructions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry's Restaurants, including family history, locations, service and meal hours, and frequent diner benefits.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the menu items to assist guests in their wine, meal, and dessert selections, using informed, tantalizing descriptions and effective selling techniques.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork and cooperation with co-workers, management, vendors and/or suppliers.
- Demonstrate competency in POS and TMX computer systems, and basic math calculations.
- Be dressed in a clean uniform and acceptable footwear, ready to begin at start of all scheduled shifts, and work until the end of scheduled shifts, unless authorized by management for approved shift or work schedule change.
- Perform other competencies and duties as assigned, such as properly clean and maintain assigned Dining Room, Bar, and restaurant areas, or administrative projects.
- Attend all mandatory co-worker meetings, training, informational, and education sessions.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Shows confidence, energy, and enthusiasm with a professional, clean appearance, and a friendly, helpful, approachable demeanor.
- Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform the requirements of the job, and to work with the public in compliance with applicable food service health and safety regulations.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position with or without reasonable accommodation, and within company policy.
- Able to stand and walk for up to eight (8) hours during a shift (with limited breaks); carry up to 100 lbs. without assistance; exert up to 150 lbs. of force without straining; and sustain repetitive motions of legs, feet, waist, back, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Be available and willing to work all scheduled shifts within the priority scheduling and seniority systems as established at each location, including working weekends and holidays.
- Capable of multi-tasking, leading, and communicating with others, able to express and exchange ideas in spoken and written English in an average manner.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Experience:
- At least one (1) year of restaurant service experience in a high-volume establishment is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Local/State Food Handler's Training Certifications as required
- Current Local/State Alcohol Beverage Service Training Certifications as required
Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers, POS systems, calculators, and touch screens.Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.Some college or culinary education beneficial.Hourly rate- $16
