**Job Title: Direct Care Staff (Foster Care)****Overview:**We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Behavioral Specialist to join our team, focusing on supporting youth with behavior problems within the foster care system. This position plays a crucial role in providing structured guidance, therapeutic intervention, and emotional support to empower these young individuals to thrive despite their challenging circumstances.**Responsibilities:**- Develop and implement behavior management plans tailored to each youth's needs, in collaboration with case managers, social workers, and other professionals.- transport clients to individual and group counseling sessions to help youth develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and address trauma-related issues.- Facilitate therapeutic activities and recreational programs that promote social skills development and positive peer interactions.- Collaborate with foster families, biological families, and caregivers to ensure consistency in behavior management techniques and support strategies.- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress notes, incident reports, and treatment plans in compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.**Qualifications:**(1) year of documented experience working with children or youth in one of or a combination of the following settings: - State licensed in-home or facility-based daycare, or professional nanny; - School setting or early learning center; - Mental Health Hospital; - Juvenile Rehabilitation facility, detention center, law enforcement, or corrections; - A child placing agency, residential care program, or as a licensed foster parent; - Conducting supervised visits; and - Working as staff directly with children or families in a community service organization. OR Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field, or two (2) years of completed coursework toward- Proven experience working with youth in foster care, particularly those with behavioral challenges or trauma histories.- Strong understanding of child development, behavioral disorders, and therapeutic interventions.- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating empathy and patience.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in child welfare and foster care services.**Working Conditions:**- This position involves working in various environments, including residential group homes, medical appointments, and community settings.- Flexible hours may be required to accommodate the needs of youth and families, including evenings and weekends as necessary.**Benefits:**- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.- Meaningful work that makes a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth and families within the foster care system.**Application Process:**Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter outlining their relevant experience and qualifications, and contact information for professional references.
