Position Summary: Reporting to the West Newton Family Navigation Center (WNFNC) Program Manager, the Direct Care staff work with homeless families temporarily living at the Center, ensuring their comfort, safety and adherence to the Center's rules and regulations. The Direct Care staff will provide essential services to families and supports the safe day-to-day operations of the Center. Working collaboratively with other Center and agency staff, they support the rapid and successful transition of families to permanent, stable housing, ensuring their well-being and safety through a trauma-informed approach. Qualifications: High School or GED required. Bilingual in English and Haitian Creole or Spanish required. Previous human service experience, preferably residential, with a strong interest in working with homeless families. Ability to ascend and descend stairs up to three or more sets and remain stationary for portions of the time. Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment and adequate communication skills – both written and oral Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing demands. Access to reliable transportation to the work location(s). CPR certified or ability to become certified. Work Schedule and Location: Both part-time and full-time shifts, including 7:00 am-3:30 pm, 3 pm-11:30 pm, and awake/overnight, 11 pm-7:30 am. This position requires an onsite presence at the West Newton Family Navigation Center located at 1650 Washington Street. West Newton MA. The role is not eligible for remote or hybrid work and is classified as essential for weather emergencies.
