Job Title: Direct Care Worker – In-Home and Community Supports
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support for individuals in their homes and within the community. The Direct Care Worker will play a crucial role in assisting Participants with daily living activities, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. This role requires a professional who is empathetic, patient, and committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Assistance: Support Participants with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility as needed.
- Medication Management: Assist Participants with medication reminders and administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Household Tasks: Help with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Community Engagement: Accompany Participants to community activities, appointments, and social events, encouraging positive interactions and engagement with others.
- Skill Building and Support: Assist Participants in developing daily living skills such as money management, cooking, communication, and other skills promoting independence.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship, active listening, and emotional support, fostering a respectful and trusting relationship.
- Health and Safety Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in Participant health or behavior to the appropriate medical or supervisory personnel promptly.
- Documentation: Accurately document daily activities, observations, and any incidents in compliance with company policies and client care plans.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to client care.
Work Environment:
- This position involves working in client homes and within community settings.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift or assist clients as necessary, as well as the ability to handle long periods of standing, walking, or other physical activities related to caregiving.
