About the Role:The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning is seeking highly qualified individuals to deliver high-quality, person-centered home care to AHCCCS/ALTCS/DDD eligible members in their homes or places of residence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tasks necessary for the comfort and safety of the Member that do not require medical or nursing supervision.
- Assist with bathing; showering and shampooing hair
- Assist with dressing; ensuring clothes are clean and appropriate.
- Assist with transfers to and from bed to wheelchair, and ambulation.
- Provide assistance with special devices such as prosthetics, if the procedure is routine and well established.
- Assist with toileting, urinary devices, and bowel maintenance programs
- Provides homemaking tasks that will maintain a safe and sanitary living condition for the Member
- Member; sweep and mop floors, vacuum, dust, wash and put away dishes, clean bathroom.
Requirements:
- 18 years of age (minimum)
- May be required to pass a criminal/background check in accordance with A.R.S. 36-41 and A.R.S. 36-411. May be required to obtain and maintain a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Some exemptions do apply
- Must be able to transport self to the worksites on a regularly scheduled basis
- Maintain the State of Arizona required level of liability insurance and possess a current Arizona driver's license when providing services to more than one client or providing shopping services
- Caregivers who provide transportation services to people with developmental disabilities through the Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities must submit to an annual Motor Vehicle Division records check and meet eligibility requirements
- Must provide three (3) verifiable references (non-family). One reference must be from a previous employer/ contractor
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Caregivers who wish to work with people with developmental disabilities must have completed and satisfactorily passed Article 9 training
- Negative TB test or must submit a free from pulmonary tuberculosis
- Caregivers must submit annual evidence of freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis
- Pass the following mandated background checks
- List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE)
- Pass Central Registry/ Child Protective Services
- Bilingual, if providing services in a home where the primary language is a language other than English (based on client desire only)
Ideal candidates will have the following personal qualities:
- Ability to communicate openly
- bedroom, change bed linens, make bed, laundry; wash, dry and put away clothes (Homemaking services are to be provided for the Member only)
- Provides nutritional meal preparation; meal planning, shopping, and medication pick up. (Meal preparation is provided for the Member only.)
- Provides oversight and companionship to the Member.
- Assist Members to medical appointments and scheduling (Caregiver may accompany Members to their appointments on public transportation. Caregiver cannot provide transportation as an employee of Emblem Home Care).
