Job Type Full-time Description Company: Pathfinder Location: Wabash, IN Category: Disability Services Starting Wage: $16.00/hr Hours: Overnights (9p-9a availability- 30/hrs. per week minimum) Job Code: WAB223 The Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Floater is vital in supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, ensuring they lead self-directed lives and ownership in their communities. With a focus on quality support and service provision, the DSP Floater assists individuals in daily living, communication, work skills, and medication administration while prioritizing safety and well-being. Key responsibilities include developing person-specific knowledge, fostering collaborative relationships, advocating for individual rights, and respecting privacy and confidentiality. The DSP Floater empowers individuals to make choices, learn new skills, and engage in meaningful activities while closely adhering to support plans and monitoring health conditions. Additionally, the DSP Floater collaborates with individuals and stakeholders to plan and implement personalized support ethically and professionally. This includes administering medication, promoting optimal health, and ensuring individuals are free from abuse or neglect. Moreover, the DSP Floater maintains fiscal accountability, ensures home safety, and meets licensing and accreditation standards. Flexibility is essential, as the DSP Floater selects shifts based on availability and completes required documentation promptly. With a commitment to safety, advocacy, and individual empowerment, the DSP Floater enhances the lives of those they support while upholding professional standards and ethical principles. Our DSP pay scale begins at $16.00 per hour. Additionally, we offer a $3.00 per hour shift differential for direct care shifts worked on Saturdays and Sundays.   • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
  • Crisis prevention, intervention, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
  • Be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance.
  • Implement non-physical and approved physical interventions and CPR with people supported when needed.
  • Shall have adequate vision, writing, and documentation skills to perform the job's essential functions.
