Description: We are currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to work within an organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities under the supervision of the Residence Manager. The Direct Support Professional would be responsible for the provision of direct services for all individuals in the residence. In addition, the DSP will provide a normalized, therapeutic, and safe environment in the least restrictive atmosphere possible. Interested candidates will promote positive self-esteem of residents in a home atmosphere through consistent positive interactions, support, encouragement, and unconditional respect of individual resident rights.Responsibilities:Work with individuals with mental or developmental disabilities by creating behavior plans, teaching self-care skills and preparing mealsAssisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressingCompleting housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidyingHelping plan client appointments and organize schedulesOrganizing transportation arrangements to appointmentsShopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needsEncouraging client engagement in social networks and communitiesAdhere to the organizations Code of EthicsEffectively communicate and support the organization s mission, vision, and valuesAccurately document service provision, daily notes, and other information as requiredQualifications:Must be beyond probationary periodMust have no disciplinary action on file for past 12 monthsShifts: 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-9:00amPhysical DemandsAbility to lift at least 50 pounds or moreDaily standing, bending and liftMust be able to stand for at least eight hours at a timeCOMPANY OVERVIEWWe are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
