To empower them to participate in their communities & live their best lives.Job Summary & Description: Empowered Services seeks to build a team of responsible, caring, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) in Yamhill County. As an Empowered Services DSP, you will be building life skills and creating opportunities with our unique group of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) customers and families.We are a One on One Attendant Care agency, providing Activities of Daily Living and Community Supports for our customers in their own or family homes. Your goal will be to develop meaningful relationships that build confidence & independence and passionately help those with intellectual & developmental disabilities to live a more fulfilled and happy life.Working one on one with each customer you serve, will allow you to assess their needs, meet desired outcomes, and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs are our customers helpers, mentors, and advocates. Empowering Lives to Grow Big People Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must have 1 or more years of experience in frequent communication and interaction with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities as a Caregiver or DSP, or 2 or more years of experience in a customer service role
- Must follow and comply with company policies/procedures and the Oregon OAR's
- Must pass a background check
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record
- Must have full coverage car insurance
- Must have your own reliable vehicle
- OIS training, CPR, and equivalent certifications helpful, but not necessary
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay between $22-24 per hour, depending on experience and certifications

Roles & Responsibilities:
Be a personal companion to your customers, and act as a supportive friend by serving their needs. Show a good work ethic, and exemplify the values of integrity, honesty, and dependabilityEncourage & foster our customers' preferred hobbies, interests, & community connectionsAssist with and work to strengthen our customers' many daily living needs, including but not limited to: Nutrition, Hygiene, Exercise, Communication Skills, Social Skills, and Household ChoresHelp our customers in their daily living, behavioral supports, mobility & transportation needs, and work with them to improve their self-reliance and independenceCreate daily schedules, and cooperatively plan for exciting adventures & events in their communitiesHelp your customer meet their goals & desired outcomes. Track your customer(s) progress and report feedback to their County CoordinatorWhen necessary, report incidents in the HUB and to the County Coordinator immediately (or within 24 hours)Encourage individual skill development, and work toward community integration(drive customers to outings, appointments, meetings, events, etc.)Develop meaningful relationships and connections with your customer(s). Let's empower them to recognize their voice, worth, and belonging within our communityFollow all health and safety protocols, and ensure your customer's health and safetyLog and track your time/mileage in the HUB daily, accuratelyComplete the required 24 hours of yearly training, as required by the State, and be open to further certifications as neededBe a compassionate, patient, and encouraging support professional at all times.
