Job Description:
We're hiring a Direct Support Professionalwho will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of adults with disabilities by providing compassionate and personalized support. This position involves assisting individuals with their daily routines, promoting independence, and supporting their personal growth plans. Vineyard Columbus has around 7,000 active members, is committed to being a great friend to our city and is in constant pursuit of building multiethnic communities that model Christlike unity in the midst of also celebrating diversity in both our campus congregations as well as on our staff.Aside from regular weekend services at our five campuses across Central Ohio, our Cooper Road Campus is also home to our Vineyard Community Center that offers an Early Childhood Center, After-School and Summer Programs, Middle and High School Life Readiness, Sports and Exercise Programs, free Health Clinics, Immigration Counseling Services, ESL classes and more!What you'll do:Provide Daily Support:
  • Provide personal care support, including toileting, hygiene and personal care while respecting individual privacy and dignity
  • Assist individuals with arrival and departure routines, ensuring a smooth transition in and out of the day services program
  • Assist with snacks and meals, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive environment with participants, team, and leadership
  • Ensure good communication with staff, coordinators, guardians and individuals
Assist with Growth and Development:
  • Support individuals' gains in their personal growth plans which may include skill development, social interaction, and recreational activities
  • Encourage independence by promoting self-advocacy and decision-making skills
  • Exhibit integrity, respect, patience, quality service and excellent communication
Manage Documentation and Reporting:
  • Understand and provide proper documentation for all supports and outcomes for all assigned participants
  • Complete documentation with required details
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of Individuals Support Plans (ISP's)
  • Attend ISP meetings for all individuals under their direct care and support.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and family members to ensure comprehensive care
What you bring:
  • Experience working with individuals affected by disability preferred
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to read/write in English
  • Clean driving record required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • CPR and First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Satisfactory BCI/FBI and abuser registry checks
The hours for this position are M-F, 8a - 3:30p.m.
