Full-time and part-time positions available!WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?The Direct Service Professional (DSP) position provides direct support to persons residing in our group home program. This is a 24-hour setting, with staff shifts, and provides services to both adults and children. The position works within these individuals' homes, which are located in residential neighborhoods of south Moorhead. The persons in our program have various needs, including mental health, physical, and behavioral. Each individual served has a unique and diverse background. Each has an individualized plan of care, which direct the activities of the DSP position. The philosophy of this program is person-centered, meaning that the person's goals and preferences are paramount. Support is provided by staff to implement the responsibilities of the person's care plan, and to ensure the health, safety, and protection of rights to each person served. Examples of areas in which this position may provide support include: cooking, housekeeping tasks, personal hygiene, community involvement, recreation and leisure skills, social activities, social and communication skills, and personal safety. The DSP will assist with medication administration and ensure that food safety and sanitary practices are followed within the home. The DSP assists in providing transportation to activities and medical appointments. The DSP's role is key in ensuring that individuals are best supported to maximize independence and achieve their goals. DSP duties are conducted in a manner which promotes safety, confidentiality, cultural competency, and adherence to our licensing standards. This position reports to the Staff Supervisor.WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Solutions is looking for a team player who is passionate about our mission! A qualified individual would have excellent people skills and a helping disposition. They would be reliable with their schedule and responsible in fulfilling job requirements for each shift. Alternating weekend availability is expected. A qualified applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and must be 21 years old to be assigned to work with our children. Our DSP's must have strong written communication skills to complete required documentation. They must be able to use various computer programs, including our electronic client record and personnel record. This position must have a current driver's license and car insurance.
