We will listen and we will be PROFESSIONAL, but we won't be silent.Day Sites - Day shifts - Monday - FridayDSPs who work at ILC day sites support individuals with planned activities that encourage community inclusion and habilitation. Whether the activities are group-based or individual-focused, DSPs ensure that the people ILC supports are working towards achieving their hopes and dreams while interacting with members of their local community. These DSPs work as a team to bring ideas to the table and create opportunities for volunteering, exploring local activities, and teaching skills that bring value and fulfillment. Being a DSP at an ILC day site provides an exciting opportunity to get involved with both the person(s) supported and your community.Employee Responsibilities:* Promoting positive social interactions* Supporting individuals, in the community during the day, at their choice of volunteer and habilitation opportunities* Teaching skills to expand a person's independence* Maintaining a clean and safe environment* Administering medications* Supporting individuals with hygiene* Providing transportation* Encouraging and creating a diverse team experience* Documenting program data at each shiftThe Ideal Candidate:* Desire to work in a team environment, even when supporting someone individually* Ability to work independently* A level of integrity that motivates doing the right thing, even when no one is watching* Ability to be flexible and handle change well* Understanding of responsibility for the safety of the people supported, their teammates, and themselves* Drive to encourage people who are working towards goals, understanding that achieving those goals comes in a series of ups and downs, wins and losses, etc.* A good track record of attendance and an understanding of the importance of consistency for the people ILC supportsRequirements* Must be at least 19 years of age* Completion of High School Diploma or GED* Possess a valid driver's license and current car insurance* Have a reliable vehicle to transport people during a shift* Pass all background checks* Must have a full range of motion, physical strength, and the ability to achieve and maintain training and certifications* Basic computer usage/ knowledgeEqual Opportunity Employer
