Job Description: TX Direct Support Professional in Lufkin, TX, 75901Job SummaryThe TX Direct Support Professional will provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Lufkin, TX, 75901. The Direct Support Professional will work with individuals to help them achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community events
- Assist individuals with money management and budgeting
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals
- Document and report any changes in individuals' behavior or health
- Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement individualized plans for each individual
- Attend trainings and meetings as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Physical DemandsThe TX Direct Support Professional must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist individuals with mobility as needed.Work EnvironmentThe TX Direct Support Professional will work in a variety of settings, including individuals' homes, community settings, and office environments.
