Responsibilities
- Assist with Construction Tasks: Engage in physical labor, including digging trenches, clearing waste materials, cleaning and preparing construction sites, and handling a variety of hand and power tools.
- Site Preparation: Prepare work areas to optimize HDD operations, ensuring all zones are free from debris and potential hazards.
- Drilling Support: Aid in the setup and installation of drill tooling and pipes for underground utilities.
- Safety Compliance: Promote safety by monitoring crew members and ensuring all work adheres to company safety protocols.
- Traffic Control: Set up traffic signs and manage traffic flow to alert vehicles of active construction zones.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working condition. Assist with loading and unloading equipment from trucks as needed.
- Training and Mentoring: Provide support in training apprentices and new team members on basic construction tasks, tool usage, and safety practices.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project completion, including pothole filling and site cleanup.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license required; must be willing to obtain a Class A CDL with a tanker endorsement within six months.
- Physical Ability: Capacity to lift and carry materials and tools (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Physical Endurance: Able to perform tasks throughout the day, including bending, kneeling, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Mobility: Ability to navigate uneven and steep terrain, confined spaces (such as trenches, pits, and tunnels), and work in diverse weather conditions.
- Agility: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and perform tasks in a variety of outdoor environments.
- PPE Use: Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods as required.
- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination, balance, and dexterity for handling equipment and tools.

- Outdoor Work: This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Construction Sites: Exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and potential hazards is typical; adherence to strict safety protocols is essential.
