The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide. We are driving a strategic, multi-year transformation of our Acquiring ecosystem Acquirer Platform Transformation (APT) which will enable us to develop innovative products, services, and solutions that will anticipate our future merchant and acquiring partners needs. This is a strategic priority for GMNS as it becomes increasingly important that we stay competitive with the rise of intermediaries, are able to quickly adapt to an ever-changing regulatory environment, and are developing strong value-added services that deepen the relationships with our acquiring customers.Reporting into the Vice President of Acquirer Platform Transformation, the Director of Acquirer Product Management will help set the strategic prioritization for the APT program, manage the overall roadmap and technical investment process for the acquiring business, and identify opportunities to accelerate progress across the acquiring product teams and roadmaps. This leader will be the face of the APT Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring key oversight and governance for this critical Enterprise priority. This will be a highly visible role that will be expected to navigate and influence successfully across the GMNS and NAS leadership and stakeholder teams, while helping to set and drive the overall APT agenda.How will you make an impact in this role?Help us build a diverse and inclusive team by creating a culture of inclusivity, empowerment, growth, and innovation. Coach and develop a successful team that effectively influences across band levels and lines of business.Define what winning looks like by crafting executive-level storytelling for monthly Steering Committees that highlight strategic APT program updates. Develop and refine internal processes (Intake, Investment Planning, Roadmap Refreshes) to ensure our business partners are well-informed and able to execute flawlessly. Identify the best marketplace tools for our program management and product development teams to manage workflow effectively.Demonstrate the impact of making collaboration essential as you work closely with our NAS and Blue Box product teams, our Acquiring Capability Delivery (ACD) and other key support groups to understand customer needs, sources of value, and contending priorities. You will be our evangelist for the APT program and will seek opportunities to spread our APT vision in forums like town halls, cross-line of business team meetings, etc.Drive stellar results by ensuring strong product management hygiene across our acquiring teams, including roadmap refreshes, customer journey mapping, customer personas, etc. You will lead our annual investment planning process for all acquiring tech development, coordinating closely with Product, Delivery, and Tech to ensure we re committing to the highest-value outcomes for the business.Preferred QualificationsExperience: Background in managing digital products, crafting ground-breaking strategies, identifying our future business needs, and understanding the payments industry, preferably including merchant acquisition. Program management office (PMO) experience strongly preferred.Leadership skills: Strong background of leadership, both in building successful, diverse teams as well as generating followership.Entrepreneurial mindset: Ability to spot new trends and opportunities, develop a business case which others can be persuaded to support, and overcome objections and obstacles in making the vision a reality.Intellectual curiosity: High intellectual curiosity, with excellent creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deal with ambiguous or undefined problems in our complex acquiring space.Strategic thought leadership: Strategic and innovative mentality, with the ability to synthesize and translate market and industry trends into opportunities for us to drive innovative AXP acquiring solutions.Entrepreneurial spirit: Consistent track record leading organizational change and delivering in complex and highly matrixed organizations!Executive communication: Outstanding communicator who can distill sophisticated topics into clear and concise messages, adapted appropriately for a broad audience.Highly collaborative: Ability to collaborate, and build positive relationships with both our internal and external partners to deliver value beyond traditional means.Great attitude: High energy, an optimistic attitude, and a good sense of humor!QualificationsSalary Range: $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
