About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative leader in Machine Learning to build out Active Learning and Protein Design technology for novel therapeutics across the RA Ventures incubator and ecosystem. Leveraging proprietary ultra high throughput protein synthesis and screening technology and our in-house team of scientific experts, you will plan and direct our efforts in machine learning for therapeutics and protein design. You will couple state-of-the-art computational methods with proprietary high throughput wet lab methodology to implement design/build/test/learn systems and rapidly generate the next generation of therapeutics.
You will: - Design, build, and implement active learning systems for rapid therapeutics design and development on top of wet lab platforms developed by RA Ventures and its portfolio.
- Lead ML and Computational efforts in collaboration with diverse scientific teams to get to the right therapeutic as efficiently as possible
- Develop best in class models on top of public and proprietary datasets to support the creation of novel therapeutic candidates and more efficient learning.
- Build communities of practice across the Raven Portfolio to develop the next generation of active learning tech and applications in protein and therapeutics design.
- Design the next generation of Raven newcos built on our proprietary wet lab capabilities and computational expertise.
You are: - Deeply experienced in molecular machine learning, ideally in proteins, or otherwise on biological sequences and structures.
- An accomplished scientific leader, ideally with prior wet lab experience that you can bring to bear for helping to design the next generation of computational models.
- Empathetic, understanding how lab teams work, why they do what they do, and the best way to introduce novel computational technology to complement and augment their work.
- Accustomed to thinking through and making the right tradeoffs between accuracy, efficiency, turnaround time, and practicality to most efficiently get to meaningful results.
- Skilled at pairing the right ml algorithms and architectures with the right problem
- Curious, staying up-to-date with the literature, exploring novel computational methods to test, and identifying new ways they can be exploited to develop therapeutics.
- Great at building effective teams of high performers who can operate independently and with diverse communities of experts.
