Article Student Living is looking for a real estate professional with at least seven years of relevant student housing or multifamily residential real estate experience for the Director, Asset Management position located at Article's headquarters in Chicago, IL.Experience in asset and investment management and real estate analytics is required. You will work in a growing firm focused on student housing development and investment.

This roleis basedat our home office in the Fulton Market area. It requires in-office attendance 4 to 5 days per week,and you will travel up to 30% of the time.
You will report to the Head of Asset Management.
Your Mission:Produce and implement strategies to lead value and manage risk
Implement business plans and maximize investor returns for a portfolio of assets
Direct leasing, capital, and operations teams to lead performance
Monitor the investment from the development stage through disposition including initial lease-up and stabilization
Manage the relationship and communication with investors and joint venture partners
You will evaluate investment and property operating performance
Prepare cash flow forecasts
Maintain forward-looking financial models and prepare quarterly asset valuations
Communicate with the Vice President and Senior Vice President, Asset Management on status and property performance
You will prepare strategic asset reviews and hold-and-sell analyses, and present recommendations to the executive team and investors
Work with the Debt Capital Markets team on loan covenant compliance and refinancing's
Partner with the Investment Management team on recapitalizations
You will manage the disposition process, including broker selection, LOI, PSA negotiation, and closing, alongside Legal and Investment Management
Provide geographic and capital market knowledge input on new investment opportunities
Visit assets and markets to monitor performance and cultivate and enhance market relationships
Provide leadership and work with property management staff to develop, review, revise, and approve budgets and business plans
Oversee the execution of capital projects with Property Management and Construction Management
You will provide oversight to consultants, brokers, contractors, vendors, and legal counsel
Your Track Record:Minimum of 7+ years of prior real estate asset management and investment analytical experience
Bachelor's degree required
Experience in student housing or multifamily residential required
Technical skills with proficiency in Excel (can perform complex functions) , Word, and PowerPoint.
