Job Description:
Full time (80 hours biweekly)Weekdays, daytime hours with flexibility as neededGeneral SummaryProvides professional/therapeutic clinical leadership for the WellSpan Behavioral Health Inpatient Hospital. This includes leadership for various clinical, quality, and regulatory processes that relate to treatment oversight, Milieu programming, and program operations. Maintains routine communication with leadership and patient accounting department reconciling for billing concerns.Develops and implements policies and procedures in accordance with established standards. Ensures that appropriate documentation is maintained in accordance with established standards and procedures. Prepares and administers annual operating budget for assigned components of the program. Coordinates the completion of client care services with appropriate documentation in compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and external regulations.Ensures the use of evidence-based practices in all treatment modalities to ensure therapists are providing patient-centered, trauma-informed interventions that result in measurable clinical improvements.Provides therapeutic and administrative supervision and/or mentoring of Managers of Behavioral Health Services, Therapists, Activities Therapists, Primary Milieu Coordinators, Clinical Interns, and other roles as assigned. Offers ongoing support, direction, and feedback as indicated. Conducts annual performance evaluations. Implements corrective action plans as needed. Monitors competency of staff in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients.Monitors and tracks patient care through performance improvement to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations serving as minimum requirements. Facilitates problem-solving and problem resolution of clinical care issues.Provides limited clinical services on a regular basis and serves as a therapist backup when needed to cover benefit time or high volumes.Establishes a culture of collaboration among staff. Promotes open and creative exploration of issues involved in a decision and promotes alignment of the efforts of all persons to create a shared vision.Develops and implements clinical best practice standards related to quality, census and staffing standards, skill development, staff training, and documentation to ensure compliance with all regulatory and payer standards.In Milieu program, utilizes teaching, observation, and assessment skills to orient, instruct, and monitor staff competencies in BRT and Trauma Informed Care. Provides effective feedback, coaching, mentoring, and evaluation to assist in the professional development of staff.Provides weekend/holiday on-call services as needed.Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in behavioral healthcare. Participates in leading and supporting processes that enhance clinical care. This includes participating in committees/meetings (e.g., quality, regulatory, etc.)Works with social services chief to provide oversight to social work/social service functions and processes including admissions, treatment planning, psychosocial history, family involvement, case management, and after-care.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. Fosters positive, productive working relationships with internal customers, as well as agencies, community agencies, and associations.Common Expectations:Enhances professional growth and development to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field and Lean methodology through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, seminars, professional affiliations, and workshops.Understands and maintains familiarity with accreditation and Department of Human Services (DHS) regulatory standards and requirements for community-based services.Provides support to program leaders in the development and implementation of action plans related to regulatory reviews and leads the reinforcement of processes for sustained application and outcomes.Minimum Education:Master's Degree in Human Services field.
