Position Overview:
The Director, Business Analytics is a leadership position responsible for managing and providing leadership on various key BI systems and services including Tableau Cloud, Alteryx, and SAP Business Object. The Director will provide people and technology leadership and expand and optimize the data visualization and analytics capabilities. This leader will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, operations engineers, delivery managers, and IT teams across the company to support data visualization and analytics strategy. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong leadership capability, technical ability, data capability, excellent communication, and collaboration skills.
Job Description:
- Perform the role of Tableau Cloud site administrator by creating and maintaining the framework that enables Tableau Desktop users to publish, share, manage, and connect to data sources and workbooks.
- Manage Tableau data sources, monitor usage, and ensure the success of extract refresh tasks.
- Alteryx Server Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining the Alteryx Server.
- SAP Business Object Server Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining the Business Object Server.
- Manage user access, permissions, and roles on all BI systems and servers.
- Develop complex SQL code for reporting.
- Proactively manage and monitor data quality.
- Strengthen security and audit practices.
- Provide support for Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, and Alteryx products.
- Perform data visualization and reporting in Tableau Desktop.
- Configure BI Server for authentication using SAML 2.0.
- Design security architecture by customizing access levels and creating user groups.
- Set up Distributed Server environments for optimum load balancing.
- Create automated scripts for Tableau workbook refresh.
- Maintain and monitor BI systems using maintenance tools.
- Develop key metrics and deliver critical analysis to guide business strategy.
- Work closely with senior leadership and department heads to drive organizational success.
- Influence decisions at the highest levels and create predictive analytics and reporting solutions.
- Be a member of a dynamic team working on a variety of projects across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Tableau administration and data management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Alteryx administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP Business Object administration.
- Experience with AWS technologies (EC2, ECS, VPC, S3, RDS, Redshift).
- Experience with advanced Business Intelligence and data science.
- Knowledge of best practices for Tableau, Alteryx, and SAP BO.
- Advanced analytical skills and effective communication of complex concepts.
- Experience with Agile software development using JIRA.
- Experience with Linux and Windows systems.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
- Knowledge of the Incident Response and change management life-cycles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
