Director, Career Services, LargoThe Director, Career Services, under the direction of the Chief Program Officer, is responsible for providing leadership and direction to WIOA, Adult and Dislocated worker programs, and state and local workforce programs ensuring efficient delivery of services and the achievement of program performance goals. The Director, Career Services will work with partner organizations to achieve program goals and objectives while increasing the number of customers served with quality services. The Director, Career Services is responsible for the overall operation of adult workforce programs, including the programmatic and financial components, and coordination of activities, and generally for assuring that all grant requirements are met promptly.Reporting, Working Relationships, and Classification:The Director, Career Services reports to the Chief Program Officer and supervises the Manager, Career Services and other Career Services staff. The Director, Career Services manages the operations of the Career Services Department and works closely with all Career Services staff.Essential Responsibilities:Staff ManagementManages and supervises the personnel assigned to the Career Services DepartmentProvides guidance and training for staff development and improved performanceEvaluates staff performance and provides guidance for correcting staff deficienciesFacilitates regular strategic staff meetingsConducts weekly one on one meetings with the Manager, Career ServicesOutreach and CollaborationsDevelops strategies to promote positive public relations by establishing good rapport and collaborative efforts with community-based organizations, workforce development organizations, business associations, labor organizations, social service agencies, etc.Ensures that the Career Services staff are attending various job fairs, trade shows, business functions, after-hours business affairs, networking events, community events, etc.Represents Employ Prince Georges and the Prince Georges County American Job Center Community Network at events outside of traditional business hours and functions.Develops customized workforce development programs with strategic partners.Consistently seeks local and regional partnerships to secure additional resources and services to address the workforce, economic, and skills gaps within Prince Georges County.Departmental PerformanceUtilizes labor market information and economic data to design workforce development programs that will meet the needs of area businesses.Develops, implements, and evaluates strategies to ensure that the Career Services Department meets or exceeds programmatic goalsMaintains fiscal integrity of all grant programs Partners with the Ready-To-Work program and Business Services Department to rapidly match entry-level and middle-skilled job seekers with relevant career opportunitiesReportingOn-time submission of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reportsMaintains programmatic impact reports and ensures data is inputted into the appropriate databasesExpectations of EPG Directors:Collaborate with C-level executives and peers to develop Corporate and/or Department strategies for improving programmatic outcomes, increasing departmental capacity, generating revenue, etc.Work with the Division Chief to set departmental objectives and performance targets, and independently lead development and implementation of plans to achieve them.Define the specific content of and delivery methods for internal and/or external programs within the Divisions portfolio, involving department managers and others as appropriate. Lead and/or participate as a subject matter expert in establishment of cross-departmental workflows, communication mechanisms, etc. to facilitated integrated service delivery.Identify, evaluate, propose, and/or build out new programs to benefit EPG and/or its stakeholders, both independently and in collaboration with other members of the leadership team.
