The at announces an opportunity for a director to lead the school-wide (CWHE). This appointment will be at the Associate Professor or Professor level with tenure offered in the candidate's engineering department of choice.Building on WashU's strengths within the McKelvey School of Engineering and the School of Medicine, the CWHE was launched in 2022 to advance novel engineering approaches to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases relevant to women's health. The CWHE will promote research on women-specific conditions and conditions that disproportionately affect women, including disorders and cancers of the reproductive system, select neurological conditions, and adverse maternal health outcomes, with the goal of increasing health for women across the lifespan. The Center will also train the next generation of researchers, entrepreneurs and policy leaders needed to change the trajectory of women's healthcare in the region, nation and beyond.The CWHE Director will work to unite investigators from the McKelvey School and School of Medicine and promote collaboration in research, education and training at undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels. The CWHE Director will also mentor CWHE investigators to advance researchers in the discipline, and support efforts related to technology transfer, entrepreneurship and outreach both within and outside of the university community.Diversity and inclusion are in the McKelvey School of Engineering, and the strong candidate will demonstrate an ability to create inclusive classrooms and research environments in which students from many different backgrounds can learn and thrive.Applicants must hold a PhD degree in engineering or related field and will have a record of extramurally funded research and scholarship in any domain, but also a field relevant to women's health consistent with the CWHE mission. The successful candidate will establish leadership of the CWHE, but also establish an independent research program, advise doctoral students, teach domain-specific courses, and develop collaborations with other faculty members and programs across the institution.Applicants should apply at .
