AmTrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has a need for a Director, WC Claims. Those within a 50 mile radius of an AmTrust office will be expected to abide by a hybrid schedule.

This position supports the day-to-day operations of the Workers Compensation claims line of business. It requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills, interpretation of rules and statutes, ability to make timely and effective decisions and to develop and take appropriate corrective actions. This role will also be responsible for analytic measurement and improvement of the workers compensation line of business, including managed care. The Director is responsible for line of business metrics and analysis, including, operational metrics, data quality and SOX compliance.

This position reports directly to the VP of Claims Technical and indirectly to the Zonal VPs and the Managed Care organization.

Responsibilities
    Overseeing daily activities to ensure desired technical, operational, and regulatory outcomes
  • Conduct regular assessments on the overall 'health' of the workers compensation line of business and identify improvement opportunities
  • Work with senior leaders to understand current state results and implement long-term strategic plans
  • Pull reports and analyze data to understand trends, answer business questions and fulfill data requests
  • Communicate with internal/external stakeholders to inform/involve them when appropriate on various project related or improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of workers compensation claims, with 3+ years in Claims preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and an ability to interact collaboratively and work effectively with a multi-functional team and throughout the organization; fosters an environment of shared responsibility and accountability
  • Strong communication, data analytics and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead Process Improvement efforts
  • Ability to travel, nationally, up to 20% of the time
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to prepare presentation documents and effectively communicate them
  • Ability to interpret/develop reports, metrics, and improvement plans
  • 3+ years managing projects
  • Expertise with SQL
  • Expertise in data analysis with 5+ years of experience exporting to MS Excel, data manipulation, report formatting, and analysis
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and PowerBI
  • Working knowledge of managed care in workers compensation is preferred
