Who we are looking for:The Director, CRA will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the bank's Community Reinvestment Act Program. Reporting to the Managing Director, Fair Lending and Responsible Banking, this position will help ensure the bank's compliance with CRA regulations and maintaining the bank's CRA rating by helping to develop and maintain appropriate CRA programs in low and moderate-income (LMI) markets and providing effective monitoring and reporting of CRA activities. This position will be appointed and serve as the CRA Officer.

The preference is for this position to be in Houston or Plano. Remote may be considered for the right qualified candidate.

What you'll do:

  • Support the development and implementation of the bank's CRA strategy and program
  • Manage CRA Program for the Bank
  • Maintain Program policies and procedures; identify ways to enhance CRA Program
  • Monitor and report on CRA activities to help ensure compliance with CRA regulations
  • Serve as subject matter expert of CRA initiatives and related regulatory requirements
  • Support interface with auditors and regulators, providing CRA Program information, as requested
  • Lead CRA Committee material preparation and actively participate in committee meeting
  • Lead completion of annual CRA Risk Assessment
  • Ensure CRA analysis is performed annually; leverage results to develop annual plan
  • Conduct periodic reviews and develop associated reporting
  • Work with CRA Market Representatives from each Assessment Area to ensure appropriate Community Development Lending, Investment and Service goals are met
  • Prepare and submit CRA public file and performance evaluations
  • Work with the business to help Identify and pursue lending and investment opportunities within LMI markets
  • Work closely with community-based organizations to develop partnerships and initiatives
  • Identify and advise on CRA training needs across the organization; train Bank staff on CRA objectives and strategies
  • Champion CRA initiatives across the organization
  • Represent the Bank at community events and public meetings
  • Stay updated on changes in CRA regulations and best practices
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • What you'll need to be successful:

    Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in banking or financial services
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing a team
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a 'Large Bank' CRA program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a large HMDA reporter (more than 25,000 LAR lines)
  • Strong understanding of CRA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze data
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key business contacts and community organizations
  • Experience in community development lending and investing is a plus
  • RiskExec experience preferred
