Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Compliance & Privacy to join our team. This individual will report directly to our Chief Compliance Officer, and play a key role in managing and evolving our compliance and privacy programs. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge in healthcare compliance, especially concerning billing, federal and private payers, HIPAA regulations, and privacy management. You will be responsible for leading a compliance team, managing privacy issues, and building out our privacy department to ensure Aeroflow remains compliant and secure in a fast-evolving environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of Aeroflow's compliance and privacy programs, reporting directly to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.
- Manage a compliance team of 5, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations across diverse healthcare segments.
- Oversee privacy matters, including HIPAA, FTC, and PHI privacy protocols, while ensuring the company's compliance with auditing and training standards.
- Build out and develop the privacy department to ensure policies, processes, and procedures are effectively managing all privacy-related activities.
- Stay current on evolving federal and state healthcare laws and regulations to provide strategic advice and ensure Aeroflow's compliance efforts remain top-tier.
- Support the entrepreneurial nature of Aeroflow, ensuring compliance solutions.
- Provide guidance on compliance strategies, offering practical, compliant solutions to complex issuesFoster relationships across business units and leadership to maintain a culture of compliance and awareness.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a healthcare compliance leadership role, preferably at the Director or Associate Director level. Experience working in enterprise healthcare systems is required.
- Extensive experience in compliance, including billing regulations, federal/private payers, HIPAA, and privacy management.
- Deep knowledge of payer agreements, state rules and regulations, and the ability to navigate the complexities of multi-state healthcare environments.
- Strong judgment and research skills to measure risk and provide actionable advice.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and find compliant pathways to success.
- Certifications in healthcare privacy and/or compliance are highly desirable.
